Yes, wise guys, we got our hands on a preview of Glass Bottom Games’ newest project, “Hot Tin Roof: The Cat That Wore A Fedora”.

You take the role of a Private Investigator named Emma Jones, accompanied by her feline partner Franky, that’s constantly got your back.
Both equipped with fedoras you are assigned to homicide, the gritty stuff.

Your job is to look for clues in a 3D side scrolling Noir world, L.A Noire eat your heart out.

During your play through, you are met with a pleasing narrative that really helps bring our this rich Noir environment, as well as a beautifully composed soundtrack, that mixes jazz with an essence of 8 bit music which hugely complements some of the 8 bit styling of the world.

With every game I play, I always have at least one feature compelling me to play on and with Hot Tin Roof it could be a multitude of things. The clever wit mixed with out of the ordinary plot points stood out to me. This made me contemplate the outcome of the case only to be thrown a curve ball…

The game also contains a puzzling element, with mechanics, that require a bit of skill in order to perform quickly. This creates a nice challenge that keeps me interested,
the reloading mechanic is a great example of this.

The reloading mechanic requires you to bring up the chamber of the revolver and pull out each spent round, allowing you to choose the type of round you want to fire next, from standard rounds to knockback effecting rounds. Using some of these rounds will help you complete the puzzle, thus it’s an extra tool on your belt to think about when faced with a difficult puzzle.

I had fun playing through Hot Tin Roof; it’s compelling, gripping and made me chuckle more than a few times.

I highly suggest you get behind this game, as well as the studio by supporting any and every way you can.
The easiest way, of course is to give what ever you can to their Kickstarter page.

You’ll be kicking yourself otherwise! This game doesn’t just show potential, it’s oozing with it.

So get on the case, Officers!
